A few months back we ran a remix contest for Capybara and we got several great remixes from everybody. You can hear them on the Capybara website. We were extremely excited to get this awesome remix from John Bersuch(from more KC bands than you can count). It was the clear winner in all of our minds. Thanks to everyone that submitted something and we are still taking more remixes on the Capybara site. Pictures to come soon from the unveiling party.

We are also excited to let you know that One Too Many Mornings is debuting this week at Sundance. A couple of months ago they contacted Capybara and asked if they could write a score for their movie. This is the first new material to be recorded since last years Try Brother. Check out the trailer below featuring new Capybara music:
Unlike many other movies at Sundance One Too Many Mornings will be releasing the movie via their website the day after they premier it at Sundance for a digital download. From the little bits and pieces I have seen and heard it well worth the 10 bucks for a digital download if not more then that for the other packages.
In addition to new material for the movie Darin Seal from Capybara is releasing a solo album with us next month as Saharan Gazelle Boy. It will be part of $2.00 albums special. We will have some previews up of it real soon but till then you can hear some older songs on his myspace.
And you won’t have to worry about Capybara disappearing either. In 2010 they will continue to be writing new material and playing shows. They will also be releasing more tour videos from last years tour.
Over the weekend our band Capybara got to meet up with the one and only Caplin Rous. I couldn’t resist posting a picture of this magnitude. Beware more Capybara convergence is coming.
Capybara recently got invited to play some songs at KRUX in Las Cruces, NM. They decided to do a more somber take on Cutaway Kid. The video shows some of the beautiful scenery that they have been experiencing in the southwest. If you are in Austin, TX this week check them out.

This month song celebrates some convergence of Record Machine artists. Our artist Sam Billen put together a sweet little remix for Capybara’s The Wimp. We thought it would be a great way to celebrate two things.
1) Sam’s new album Headphones and Cellphones comes out on the 27th
2) We were in need of a kick off to our Capybara – The Wimp Remix Competition.
We decided to put together a sweet competition for all of you to enjoy. If your interested head over to Remix Competition page. The first prize winner gets a giant gummy bear(pictured above and yes he is making his own remix in that picture)and five Record Machine Releases. Then we have 5 second place winners who will get a copy of Capybara – Try Brother. We hope that you join in the fun.
Here is the first of many tour videos you will be seeing from Capybara as they are on the road. Here they are jammed in a tight little KCOU radio station booth in Columbia, MO.
Which KCOU among many other stations around the country are playing Capybara. They debuted at #156 on the CMJ charts last week. They are now up to #128. If you already playing the record we all want to thank you very much. If you are at a college radio station or near one please add Capybara or request it for us.
Capybara has also been getting some nice press
Capybara is probably one of the most original sounding pop bands we have yet to hear in 2009.
The way Capybara boom-in that fuzz guitar halfway through and end with their stick-clacks and sailors’ choir, maybe that’s it, maybe that’s all I need.
