State Bird - I Saw The Light from Mostly Ghostly

Here is a moment we have been wanting to share with you for a long time. You can even go over to Pitchfork.tv and check this video out with several others(yes that pitchfork). This video has been several months in the making. Countless hours were put into the stop animation of the video by TRM partner Mike Russo. Hopefully the song and video make you want to get out of your seat and dance right along with us.

Interstates played last week to packed out home crowd at the 930 Listening Room in Louisville last week. Our friend Sean from Buzzgrinder.com was there and he snapped a few pics for us.

This month not only do you get a download but you also a music video for the song. Max Justus might look like a new artist but by age 20 he has released several independent records before signing with The Record Machine. His newest record Five Leaping Leopards includes some of the most danceable, catchy, and hard hitting material of his career.October’s song of the month CTRL + ALT + Dance shows a different side of Max’s abilities. Just like the video the song is lighter and airier in comparison to the newer material that he has been producing.

Brooke Waggoner vs Interstates

As Brooke Waggoner readied her debut full length she asked Interstates to do a remix of her song Fresh Pair of Eyes.  Like any good remix it takes bits and pieces of the original song and makes a brand new song that can stand on its own two feet. This month’s song  Eyes o’ Eyes is just that.

Eyes o’ Eyes is a blissful ambient track that samples elements of the original song, but other than that leaves no traces of similarity behind. For the August Song of the Month we actually have 3 songs! It is the rest of the new State Bird EP entitled 4 New Songs. They recorded the songs live with a few overdubs before their appearance at a summer festival. Originally there was only 50 copies made but we all loved the songs so much we wanted everybody to get their hands on it.  Feel free to download and pass around the ep.
